FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The short version: Streetle runs on OpenStreetMap data, daily boards are fixed, and loading speed mostly depends on cache state and upstream API health.

How is score calculated?

You get 1 point for a correct answer. The final result is shown as correct guesses over total attempts, so a miss or skip increases the denominator.

Why is the daily board the same for everyone?

Daily mode uses a deterministic shuffle tied to the date, city, and mode. That keeps the board stable so scores are comparable.

What is included in the game?

Street mode uses named road segments. Place modes use landmarks, parks, restaurants, cafes, bars, and pubs pulled from OpenStreetMap inside the selected boundary.

Why did my city load slowly or fail?

Large cities take longer, and public OSM services are not always stable. Cached cities usually load much faster than first-time requests.

Where is my data stored?

Scores live in your browser. The server caches prepared map payloads so later requests can reuse them. Streetle does not use user accounts or store profile data.

Can I suggest changes or report bad map data?

Yes. Email the support inbox with the city, mode, and issue. Specific repro links are especially useful.
