How is my score calculated?

Your score increases by 1 for every correct guess. The total equals the number of streets or places in the current mode.

Why does the Daily Challenge feel the same for everyone?

Daily Challenge uses a seeded shuffle tied to the current date and the city name. That keeps the street list consistent so you can compare scores.

What streets and places are included?

PinPointer prioritizes named streets and recognizable places from OpenStreetMap, focusing on common road types, landmarks, restaurants, and parks.

Why did my city load slowly or fail?

Street and place data is pulled from public OpenStreetMap services. Some cities are large or the API may be busy. Try again in a minute or choose a smaller city. If the map is already cached, it should load much faster.

Where is my data stored?

Scores are stored locally in your browser. Map data is cached on the server for faster reloads and may also be cached locally. We do not store personal data on our servers.
